Ordering process

  1. Check that units are available. By placing an order, you (the customer) agree to the Terms and Conditions below.
  2. Send an email to with your enquiry. Please include your full address and country so I can calculate shipping costs and figure the appropriate power supply type.
  3. You'll receive a reply with the total amount to pay, including shipping. Use one of the proposed payment methods.
  4. Once the payment is received, your unit gets reserved and you'll receive a reservation number.
  5. Once we reach the next shipping window, your unit gets shipped to you. At that point, you will receive a shipping notification and, for international orders, a tracking number.

2. Product

Micro-8 is a small-batch electronic device assembled by hand.

This product is intended for educational and hobbyist use.

Product descriptions, specifications, and images are provided for informational purposes. Minor variations in appearance may occur between units due to the artisanal manufacturing process.


3. Orders

Orders are considered confirmed once payment has been successfully received.

Only one unit per shipping address will be accepted.

The seller reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order in the event of:

  • payment issues,
  • incorrect pricing due to technical error,
  • suspected fraudulent activity,
  • product unavailability.

If an order must be cancelled by the seller after payment has been received, a full refund will be issued.


4. Prices and Payment

All prices are displayed in EUR.

All applicable taxes are included for EU customers.

Payment must be completed in full before the order is processed.


5. Shipping and Delivery

Shipping and handling (payment system fee) costs are provided once the customer has sent his address information.

Shipping starts during the next shipping window as displayed on top of this page.

Delivery times may vary depending on the destination, carrier conditions, customs procedures, or unforeseen circumstances.

For deliveries outside the European Union, the customer may be responsible for import duties, customs taxes, or tariffs imposed by their country.


6. Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumers)

In accordance with European consumer protection law, customers located within the European Union have the right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days without providing a reason.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day the customer receives the goods.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, the customer must notify the seller by email before the withdrawal period expires.


7. Returns

After notifying the withdrawal, the customer must return the goods within 14 days.

Returned products must be:

  • complete,
  • in their original packaging,
  • in a condition suitable for resale.

The customer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods.

The customer is liable for any loss in value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature and functioning of the product.


8. Refunds

If the withdrawal is valid, the seller will reimburse all payments received for the product, including standard delivery costs.

Refunds will be issued within 14 days after receiving the returned goods.

Refunds will be processed using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless otherwise agreed.


9. Warranty

Products are covered by the legal warranty applicable under Belgian and European consumer law.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects occurring under normal use of the product.

Exclusions:

  • The YM2612 sound chip is a vintage component and is therefore excluded from the standard warranty. While every effort is made to ensure the chip is fully functional at the time of assembly, no warranty is provided for this component.
  • This warranty does not cover damage resulting from:
    • misuse,
    • modifications,
    • accidents,
    • improper handling,
    • unauthorized repair attempts.

10. Limited User License for Documentation and System Software

The Micro-8 is supplied with user documentation and embedded system software that includes the firmware, the FPGA configuration and the operating system components such as the Lofi compiler and VM. These elements are protected by copyright and remain the intellectual property of their respective author or rights holder. By purchasing and using the Micro-8, the customer receives a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the supplied documentation and system software solely for the normal operation, maintenance, learning, and personal use of the Micro-8 device. This license does not include any right to copy, reproduce, publish, distribute, sell, sublicense, modify, adapt, reverse engineer, decompile, or otherwise exploit the documentation or system software, except where such acts are expressly permitted by applicable mandatory law. The purchase of the Micro-8 does not transfer any copyright, source code ownership, or other intellectual property rights to the customer. Any third-party software or open-source components, remain subject to their own applicable license terms.


11. Technical Nature of the Product

The products sold are specialized computing devices intended for experimentation, learning, and hobbyist use.

Users are responsible for ensuring proper usage and handling of the product in accordance with the documentation provided.


12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the seller shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the product.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability where such exclusion is not permitted by applicable law.


13. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Belgium.

Any dispute arising from the sale of products shall fall under the jurisdiction of the Tribunal de l'entreprise de Namur.
